Summary

Responsible for ensuring all student attendance data is uploaded in accordance with Arizona Department of Education's requirements. Provides support, training for student information system. Models high expectations of accountability in all responsiblilities to perform this job successfully.

Essential Duties and Responsiblities
  1. Ensure compliance with all state reporting requirements
  2. Interpret statutes to determine the data required for student attendance reporting and developts attendance-reporting procedures to be used by FUSD personnel.
  3. Analyze and verifies student membership and attendance data to assure accuracy and compliance with Arizona Department of Education regulation and district policy.
  4. Coordinate the collection of membership data for special education, foster/group home student and submits requrests for funding.
  5. Assists in internal audits, playing an integral rolse in procedural revisions to correct and minimize deficiencies.
  6. Maintain and troubleshoot issues related to the student information system.
  7. Import data into the student information system as needed.
  8. Follow state reporting calendar to ensure all deadlines for submissions are met.
  9. Stay informed of any changes to state reporting requirements, and work with the District's Business Office staff to ensure all bell schedules meet the required instructional minutes.
  10. Maintains school calendar and school setup information, user access information, and profiles at Arizona Department of Education.
  11. Provide technical support to attendance clerks and registrars for student information system reporting and data validation.
  12. Prepare special internal reports as requested by the state of district officials.
  13. Meet with auditors as required and supply all student level data requested.
  14. Analyze and compare monthly the state required data within the student management system to data at the state for compliance and balancing.
  15. Monitor and correct all ADE integrity errors at the state to ensure accurate and clean data.
  16. Maintain end of year electronic files of student data, programs, and discipline per AZ Records Retention schedule.
  17. Perform other duties as required.
Education and/or Experience
  1. High School Diploma required and at least two to three years advanced knowledge of student management software (not any specific student management software program), or at least 2 years experience as a registrar or student data manager. Experience with Edupoint's Synergy student information system is preferred but not required.
  2. Effective communication and excellent interpersonal skills in relating to all levels of district staff, parents and students.
  3. Ability to meet deadlines and schedules.
  4. Ability to provide training in small groups.
  5. Have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.

Salary based on Column J of the Classified Salary schedule as established by the Governing Board.

12-month position, 8 hours per day.
